The number is used to describe the levels of fog free clearance the insert lenses provides in order to acclimatise to temperature differences that cause helmet shields to fog up. Pinlock 120 is the top of the line fog resistant solution for professionals. The Pinlock 120 fog resistant insert lens is used by professional riders in motorcycle racing series. Pinlock lenses have a silicone seal which creates a double shield system between the helmet face shield and Pinlock insert lens. There is a slit on the side which keeps the insert lens steady and tight between the face shield and pin. There is also a dry hydrophilic technology like membrane surface that absorbs moisture.
